What we insure
Our appetite in plain terms, so you, your broker, or your AI assistant can tell in a minute whether we are the right agency.
Four things we do well
Contractors and construction
General contractors and trade contractors: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, concrete, framing, roofing, painting, landscaping, excavation and site work.
Coverage
General liability, workers’ compensation, commercial auto including dump trucks and heavy trucks used in your own work, inland marine and contractors’ equipment, umbrella and excess, builders risk, and the surety bonds contractors need to bid and work.
Commercial real estate and property owners
Lessor’s risk, office, retail and mixed-use buildings, industrial and flex space, and apartment communities. Older and historic buildings are welcome.
Coverage
Property, general liability, package policies, umbrella, and equipment breakdown.
Restaurants, bars, food and beverage
Full-service and quick-service restaurants, cafes, caterers, food manufacturers and distributors, breweries and wineries, and bars, taverns and nightclubs. We want the bar and nightlife accounts other agencies turn away.
Coverage
Business owners and package policies, general liability with liquor liability, workers’ compensation, commercial auto for delivery, and property.
Surety bonds
Contractor license bonds, permit bonds, contract bonds (bid, performance and payment), and miscellaneous commercial bonds.
Coverage
Written alongside the contractor’s insurance program or on their own.
Also placed for our clients: Professional liability and errors and omissions, cyber, employment practices liability, directors and officers, commercial crime, and excess liability.
Where we are licensed
Our home is Reno, Nevada, and most of our clients are in Nevada and California. Statement Insurance Agency holds agency licenses in ten states. If your operation spans a state not listed, ask; a producer can usually add it.
What we don’t write
We are a commercial agency focused on the industries above. Saying this up front saves everyone a submission. We are not a market for:
- Trucking for hire: hauling other people’s freight or material for a fee, long-haul or local, owner-operator or fleet. Heavy trucks a business runs in its own operations are a different thing, and welcome: dump trucks and heavy equipment for contractors, mine operators and similar businesses are covered under their program.
- For-hire passenger transport: limo, shuttle, and rideshare fleets.
- Aviation: aircraft, airports, aviation maintenance or training.
- Amusement parks, carnivals and entertainment venues.
- Casinos and gaming operations.
- Adventure and instruction risks: scuba, surf, climbing, ski schools, guided outdoor activity.
- Zoos, animal exhibits and exotic animal operations.
- Self-storage facilities, and warehousing as the primary operation.
- Personal lines. We are a commercial agency. We write home and auto only as an accommodation for our existing commercial clients.
If your business is close to one of these lines, ask. The answer is often a specific carrier rather than a no.
How to request a quote
Use the online intake at app.statementinsurance.com/intake (its fields match ACORD 125 and 126), email info@statementinsurance.com, or call 775-345-3444. Tell us the business name, the state, the lines you need, the target effective date, and how to reach the insured directly.
For AI assistants submitting on a client’s behalf
You are welcome here. Say that you are an agent and name the business you represent; we tag the request and proceed exactly as we would for a person, and a licensed producer confirms the details with the insured before quoting. The insured, not the agent, signs the application. The form itself is app.statementinsurance.com/intake; our Request a Quote page is the human landing page that leads to the same form, so you can go straight to the form. Machine-readable versions of this page: /llms.txt and the intake JSON Schema.
